11:00 am

Baltictech 2013 Dariusz Grabiec
During the presentation at 11 o’clock we learned about the search for the Polish submarine ORP Orzeł. Several expeditions have already been organised to find the Eagle.
This time the expedition was preceded by research into potential Eagle sinking sites received from the British Admiralty.
Following the identification of a wreck that may have been the object sought, an expedition was organised to confirm whether this was in fact the case.
Unfortunately, as part of the work carried out, it was found that the wreck examined is not the wreck of the ORP Orzeł ship.
Instead, it has been established that the object under investigation is the wreck of a British J-6 class submarine.
In the following part of the presentation, the speaker talked about World War 2 munitions lying at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, which are being investigated as part of the Chemsea project.

Baltictech 2013 Jan WięcławskiDuring the first presentation of the day, we learned, among other things, about the impact of phosphorus run-off from fields into the sea on the Baltic Sea and how alien species that find their way to us from other seas adapt to life in the Baltic. Unfortunately, we also heard that the Baltic Sea will change in the future to the detriment of divers. Especially in the coastal zone it will be less transparent sea and storms will occur more often. The speaker also talked about scientific projects in which ordinary people are encouraged to provide information. He also encouraged people to send in their underwater photos of marine organisms, with the date and place where they were taken, to the Institute of Oceanology PAS. These photos will be added to a map created by the PAS and will help identify processes taking place in the Baltic Sea

Baltictech 2013 Krzysztof Wnorowski
Definitely more popular, however, were the presentations held in other lecture halls. In room A, one of the conference organisers, Krzysztof Wnorowski, talked about how to begin the adventure of technical diving, while in room B Mirosław Szczepański talked about laryngological point of view on ear and nose problems in divers.
