Apnea Festival Wroclaw 2011

On 19-20th March in Wroclaw, Poland’s first breath-hold diving festival Apnea Festival, Wroclaw 2011 will be held. During the two-day event the Second International Polish Freediving Championships will be held, which will include all pool competitions. On the second day of the festival there will also be held, for the first time in Poland, an Open Pool Shooting Competition.

Freedivers will compete in static, dynamic without fins and dynamic with fins. The dynamic without fins competition will be held on Sunday, 20 March. Also on Sunday, the shooting competition will be held. The participants will compete in the disciplines of individual target shooting and biathlon.

Additional attractions will be organised for the public during the competition. Visitors to the swimming pool in Borowska Street will be able to watch water rescue, medical and diving shows. Those willing will be able to take a first aid course and try scuba diving equipment.

The conclusion of the competition and the award ceremony will take place on Sunday.

Second International Freediving Championships of Poland

7.45 – competitors registration,
8.45 – entering the pool,
9.00 – official opening of the competition,
9.20 – competitors, referees and security staff briefing,
9.30 – start of warm-up for the first round of static,
10.15 – start of the first round of competitors – static (next starts every 12 minutes),
13.11 – start of the last round of competitors in static,
14.00 – start of the warm-up for the dynamic competition,
14.50 – start of the first round of competitors in the dynamic competition in fins (next starts every 6 minutes),
16.54 – start of the last round of competitors in dynamic,
17.30 – announcement of results, summary of the day, time for protests.

Second International Freediving Championships of Poland

8.00 – entry to the swimming pool,
8.15 – competitors, judges and security staff briefing,
8.30 – start of the warm-up of the first pairs of competitors,
9.15 – start of the first pair of competitors in the dynamic competition without fins (next starts every 7 minutes),
11:38 – start of the last round of competitors in the dynamic competition without fins,

First Open Pool Shooting Competition

10:00-11:30 – medical examinations,
11:30-12:00 – registration of competitors in the hall of the sports pool,
12:00-12:30 – entering the pool,
12:30-13:00 – checking shooting equipment,
13:00-13:45 – warm-up, test shooting,
13:45-14:45 – start of individual target shooting competition,
14:45-15:00 – technical break between competitions,
15:00-16:00 – start of Biathlon competition,
16:00 – end of competition,
17:00 – announcement of results, awarding of prizes, official finish of the competition [main hall of WPW]
