The Chinese athlete ended the year on a strong note, as less than a week earlier, on 21 December, he set a new Asian record in the DYN competition at the Shanghai Champion Cup 2020 with 260m.

Interesting fact number 1 worth mentioning is that this record of 300 metres was set in 2016, during the AIDA World Pool Championships in Turku, Finland. At that time, exactly the same result was achieved by Pole Mateusz Malina and Giorgos Panagiotakis from Greece, which translated into ex aequo first place and a joint and still unbeaten world record.

Interesting fact #2, on the other hand, is that William significantly improved his performance after participating in classes… which were led by Mateusz Malina! Our compatriot was invited to China in December 2019, where he led a series of classes for the athletes there.

Since then, William’s career has gained momentum. The athlete has broken many national and continental records.
