The body of an unidentified man was found in the water today, near the pier in Orłowo. The corpse was found by a group of divers from the Tri-city area, who were conducting their weekly recreational diving at the spot.

The diving team from the Piórewicz Diving Centre from Gdynia, as every week, went for their usual recreational diving, this time near Orlovo pier. The participants intended to have a successful start to the new year and improve their skills.

Orłowiskie Pier Gdynia Unfortunately, during a routine dive at some point the divers came across the corpse of an unidentified man who had drowned in unknown circumstances. The body was found near the end of the pier, on its western side.

Divers marked the spot where the drowning man was found, attached the body to a ladder, then completed the dive and went ashore to notify police.

Two divers at Orłowo pier It is not the most successful start to the year, but the behaviour of the group is a model example of how we should act in a similar situation. Under no circumstances should the corpse be touched, but the exact spot where it lies should be marked, and then the relevant services should be alerted and awaiting their arrival.
