Unfavourable weather conditions, especially the strong wind, still prevented the completion of the last training phase of Project335. All those taking part in this part of the project were forced to change their immediate plans and extend their stay in Dahab.

On site, the wind force does not drop below 6 on the Beaufort scale, which makes it absolutely impossible to set sail and conduct a dress rehearsal for the record dive. In such circumstances, the team securing Dariusz “Miodzio” Wilamowski’s dive, extended their stay in Egypt by another week.

Limited opportunities for diving from a boat do not mean that everyone waits and does nothing. Training has moved to the well-known site of The Canyon, where conditions are more favourable and it is still possible to practice.

A spark of hope is the weather forecast for 8 August. The wind on that day is expected to drop to 4 on the Beaufort scale, which the divers intend to use to carry out their final training. If their plan succeeds, they will have 8 days left to make a record dive.

For our part, we are keeping our fingers crossed for better conditions on the water and a successful record attempt as soon as possible Nuno Gomes.
