We started diving. More and more equipment is appearing on our equipment list. We are just at the point where we are trying to purchase a measuring device. On the market, there are many more or less complicated dive computers that will provide an effective solution, but the Digital330, is a solid depth gauge that is worth owning, even if it will only be a backup.
It had its premiere in 2007, and since then it has settled in the world of diving for good. Regardless of diving preferences, everyone will find something in it that satisfies them. It’s great for beginners (it will successfully replace computer readouts), freedivers, or divers (as a backup). advanced divers (as a backup).
Readable, easy to mount (on a classic strap or in an elastomer case), it has all the most important indications that we will need underwater. Uwatec Digital indicates: the depth (max. 420m) we are currently at (with an accuracy of 0.1m), the maximum depth we reached during our dive, the temperature (both in the water and on land), the time and also the average depth of our dive. Knowing and skilfully using these parameters allows us to dive safely in all conditions.
In addition to displaying the most important parameters, the product in the Scubapro range has many other advantages. It starts automatically after immersion in water, warns us when we ascend too fast (it uses the same air model as all Uwatec computers), stores information from our last 19 dives in its memory (the newest one deletes the oldest one), and also works well for diving in the mountains, as it has automatic altitude compensation. The device is very energy efficient and, as assured by the manufacturer, should serve us for 11 years on a single battery, at a diving frequency of 100/1 year.
A product certainly worthy of attention and recommendation. A great, first measuring device in every diver’s career, which in time will become an ideal backup. Simple, uncomplicated, giving us a clear picture of the situation in which we find ourselves underwater. An additional motivator is the cost, much lower than the cheapest dive computers. On the minus side, there is no possibility to store more data, no possibility to download them to our computer, or no backlight. However, the disadvantages are not so annoying that they could spoil the good impression made by Uwatec Digital.
