An anchor line is a rope stretched from the water surface to the wreck. It can be permanently attached to a buoy marking the position of the wreck or each time dropped on the wreck with a piglet (load). The lowering device is often attached to a flashing light a few metres above the wreck to facilitate the return. During technical dives it is used for decompression.
