Paul Toomer has stepped down as president of Dive RAID International

Past president and face of the Dive RAID International organization Paul Toomer has stepped down from his position.

The official statement reads that although Paul Toomer has stepped down as chairman, he will continue to be an important part of the organization. The reason given was that he was not comfortable in this role from the beginning. Therefore, after a longer while, he decided to resign and focus on developing training programs.

This is something I feel positive about because it is perfect for my skill set Toomer said.

In his new role, the ex-president and founder of Dive RAID International will work with PJ Prinsloo. This will certainly translate into even better work for the training department, where new courses and updates are being developed for the more than 120 programs the agency currently offers to recreational divers, technical divers, rebreathers and freedivers.

The agency also announced that a popular and well-known diving personality will head the newly formed RAID Advisory Group. The group will consist of experienced instructors and industry professionals. Their task will be to help maintain current standards and new courses for the diving community.

Prior to becoming president, I acted as Director Diver Training. It was a job I loved and I am very happy at the thought of being able to do it again Paul Toomer added.

In his new role, Paul Toomer will work with the sales and marketing departments. Increasing RAID’s share in the recreational diving and freediving markets has been announced as the main goals. Paul Toomer will also be focused on establishing a leadership position in the technical and rebreather market segments.
