Starting in 2002, Nery set new world records in two-year intervals with the precision of a Swiss watch. With a result of 87m, he became the deepest freediver in the CWT competition for the first time. In 2004, he improved this result by 9m and reached the depth of 96m, while in 2006 in Nice, he crossed the 100m mark and reached the world record diving to the depth of 109m.

However, he did not enjoy his achievement for too long, because less than 1.5 years later, Herbert “Flying Fish” Nitschhe improved the result of Nery, reaching the depth of 112m (in April 2010 he reached the depth of 124m).

Guillaume Nery has recently become the main character in an episode of Sportlife Saga, which deals with the three elements of nature: water, ice and snow. In the episode dedicated to water, we get to know more about the motivations of the young Frenchman and himself.
