What we propel ourselves underwater is very important. There are many models of fins available on the market, offering a range of features, improvements and patents designed to convince us that this particular model will meet our expectations the best.

While at first we may struggle to make the right choice and will follow the advice of an instructor, a dive centre salesman or a more experienced colleague, as our diving career progresses we will become more aware of our needs in this regard.

The Poseidon Trident model is an interesting attempt to fit into the wide range of so-called technical fins. Such fins are characterised by the fact that they are solid, massive and heavy, but provide great propulsion.

What distinguishes “Tridents” from others is, apart from a very interesting range of colours, a wide and slightly shorter feather. As the manufacturer assures, thanks to this construction they increase our manoeuvrability and maneuverability, which is especially useful on wrecks and in caves.

In the presented model, we can swim in a classic way – with the crawl, as well as with the frog, which will allow to move both forward and backward. “Tridents” are sold complete with springs, in 4 colours: black, yellow, white and… red! Their price is about 440-489pln.

When it comes to Jet fins, there are new innovations every now and then. This is mainly due to the increasing popularity of this equipment. Large surface area and massive construction ensure great propulsion and, contrary to appearances, their use is not so tiring. The model by the Swedish company Poseidon is worth taking a closer look at, if only because of its different design and colour range, which boldly goes beyond the only right black.
