On the weekend of 23-24 June, the Freediver Rally took place for the third time – an event aimed at promoting freediving among women and integrating the freediving community. It was organised by the Freediving School BLUEGO and branded by two Polish record holders: Agata Bogusz and Aleksandra Sulkiewicz.

Thanks to the support of media patrons as many as 30 Syrenki and as many friends turned up at the NEMO diving base on the Powidzkie Lake. The age range of the participants was very wide, from 11 to 46 years old! Most of them had no experience in holding breath. The rally was also visited by more “aware” girls, who trained for two days trying to improve their last year’s achievements.

In addition to elements of freediving, the programme included first aid classes led by EEF instructor Piotr Szefer and body awareness workshops, where the girls learned why diving is really good for everything. The workshop was conducted by Marta Niedźwiedzka from the Pussy Project, who encouraged the participants to enjoy every aspect of life.

We didn’t have to wait long for the effects of the classes – more than 4 minutes of static holding one’s breath and 20m of depth are impressive results for novice Freedivers. Who knows, maybe there is another Emilia Biała among them, who took her first steps during the first Freediver Rally two years ago, and during last year’s World Championships she won a silver medal.

In the opinion of the participants, apart from the diving itself, the great atmosphere of the rally makes them want to come to Giewartów next year.

The organisers would like to thank media patrons: Podwodny Świat and Wielki Błękit magazines as well as the websites: aktywni.pl, divers24.pl, plywanie.pl, WybierzHobby.pl and Spearfishing.pl.
