With a result of 133 meters, Alexey Molchanov has set a new freediving World Record in the Constant Weight competition – CWT.

He has done it again! Freediver Alexey Molchanov once again gave his best performance and set a fantastic new World Record at 10th French Apnea Outdoor Open Championship in Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France. The Russian dived to a depth of 133 meters and confidently won the competition.

With this, Alexey Molchanov added a 28th World Record to his wonderful and very long list of achievements!

Freediving competitions

The Constant Weight competition (CWT) is a freediving discipline in which the freediver descends and ascends using a monofin and/or arms, without pulling down/up by using a rope or a ballast change. During the attempt, only a single rope grab is allowed to stop the descending and start the ascending.

It is one of eight freediving disciplines present at international rank competitions. The others are: Constant Weight Bi-fins (CWTB), Constant Weight Without Fins (CNF), Static Apnea (STA), Dynamic Apnea Without Fins (DNF), Dynamic With Fins (DYN), Free Immersion (FIM) and Dynamic Apnea Bi-fins (DYNB).
