VII Edition of the Diving Fair Podwodna Przygoda – summary and gallery

Last weekend, for a large number of people associated with the diving world, was the perfect excuse to go to Warsaw and participate in the VII edition of “Underwater Adventure”. This cult event is probably the oldest and one of the biggest events dedicated to diving enthusiasts. Regardless of whether your underwater adventure has just started or has already been going on for a few years, the various exhibitors offer something for everyone. This year was no different.

The first day – Friday – was reserved for people from the industry. It was intended to be an opportunity for brands, manufacturers, centres and representatives to meet, talk and deal with various interests. The idea may have been a good one, but looking at the attendance and the number of people who took part, as well as the opinions circulating “in the heat”, I am not sure whether it is worth continuing this scheme next year. This issue will probably be settled behind the scenes between the organisers and representatives of the diving industry.

Saturday was a completely different story. From the very morning there was a full liveliness and increased traffic. It all started from the car park, where it was hard to find a convenient place, and the further you went towards Expo XXI halls, the more people there were. At the entrance, there were no problems or waiting, the organizers did a good job, rach-ciach, badge, wristband and welcome to the fair. After crossing the threshold, we could choose one of the several directions to start visiting other stands.

People who came to the fair for the first time since it changed its location from the Palace of Culture and Science to the present one were certainly pleasantly surprised by the space and freedom of movement. Taking one step after another, one could easily familiarise oneself with the offer of all the stands. At any time you could stop for a moment, ask for details, touch or look at the equipment, without feeling the pressure of the pressing crowd. One could even get the impression that it was a bit empty, but this disappeared when, at subsequent stands manned even by several people, it turned out that everyone had their hands full taking care of subsequent visitors.

window.onload = function(e) {
if(typeof ugCheckForErrors == “undefined”){
document.getElementById(“unitegallery_19_1”).innerHTML = “Unite Gallery Error – gallery js and css files not included in the footer. Please make sure that wp_footer() function is added to your theme.“;}
else{ ugCheckForErrors(“unitegallery_19_1”, “jquery”);}
};

Apart from the leading Polish brands, there were also representatives offering foreign equipment. There were representatives with training offers dedicated both for divers, as well as for instructors. Dive centres encouraged visitors to explore the furthest corners of the world together, while representatives of the University of Warsaw’s Underwater Archaeology Department recruited those willing to study this subject, and the GEPN team – the Group for Exploring Podwarszawskie Diving Sites – boasted trophies fished during dives in the capital’s waters.

It’s worth mentioning that the fair grounds also included a swimming pool, where people could test the equipment they were interested in under combat conditions. To the best of my knowledge, kudos for that go to Good Uncle Tribord, who presented a collection of diving equipment available in Decathlon right next door.

There were also plenty of dive media stands. Our friends from the Divers Guide portal came under the protective wings of Divers24, and the Podwodny Świat magazine team, nuras.info, and the new ‘Living Underwater’ portal were also present. A new magazine published in pdf format, Podwodna Przygoda, was also being promoted at the fair.

On Sunday, contrary to many assumptions, the fairground was still bustling with life. A small part of the stands had disappeared, another part was slowly getting ready to return, but anyone who had only turned up on Sunday could easily feel satisfied.

The general assessment of the 7th edition of the Diving Fair “Podwodna Przygoda” is most positive. Although opinions among friends in the industry are divided, but we can not avoid this. There are certainly a lot of shortcomings that should be worked on together, so that in future editions even more companies would want to present themselves, and the fair itself would be visited by even more people. I think that the time remaining until the 8th edition is the time for a joint summary and dialogue, which will allow us to develop an even better formula for “Underwater Adventure”.

At this point, the Divers24 team would like to say a big thank you to everyone who visited our stand to sort out ‘issues’, ‘ideas’ and ‘business’ and just chat, after all, there aren’t many opportunities like ‘Underwater Adventure’. Readers, be assured that there are a few novelties that will soon surface to you and we hope that they will positively surprise you. We also have one “bomb”, which we will set off in three acts. So get ready for something completely unique.

Another report “with the other eye” and a summary of the Nurgress will be in the next text, prepared for you by Wojciech Zgola.
