Get ready to experience the concert of a lifetime in the heart of a mountain!

The Plura Valley team is planning a cave concert in 2024 that promises to be like no other. The event will take place in the Plura Chapel, a massive air chamber located deep inside the Plura Cave system, half a kilometer swim into the cave.

But first, of all let me explain to those who haven’t heard where and what is Plura Cave.

Deep in the heart of Norway, lies a hidden gem. Plura Cave is a stunning dive site located in the Mo I Rana region, just south of the Arctic Circle. It’s one of the deepest caves in Northern Europe and offers divers an unforgettable experience.

The entrance to Plura Cave is an underwater pond that leads to a long and colorful cave system. The walls are lined with undulating strips of limestone, creating an almost alien-like atmosphere for divers to explore. As you swim through the cave, you’ll come across many amazing formations such as stalactites and stalagmites that have been carved by nature over thousands of years. The water temperature in Plura Cave is usually around 4°C (39°F), so it’s important to wear a dry suit if you plan on diving here. There are also plenty of other activities available such as Arctic Cave Diving and traditional Finnish wood-heated saunas to enjoy when visiting Plura Valley.

The acoustics of the Plura Chapel are truly magical, and when the sound spreads through the unique rock formations, it creates an ethereal atmosphere that is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before. Imagine being surrounded by crystal-clear water, diving through marble passages, and entering another dimension where the only thing that matters is the music.

To make this event possible, the Plura Valley team is collaborating with Bodø2024 (European Culture Capital), Smeltedigelen music festival, and adventure musician, Håkon “Jazzathlete” Erlandsen. Håkon has previously played his saxophone on top of Mount Everest and is a perfect fit for this unique event. The team is also in dialogue with several other potential partners to make this concert a truly memorable experience.

The concert is scheduled for March 2024, and 50 tickets will be released soon. The safety of all attendees is of utmost importance, and only those with Full Cave certification will be allowed to attend the VIP live show. The Plura team has experience organizing large events in the cave, including the wedding of the Plura Valley owners, Ina and Jani Santala Jordbru, which made it into the Guinness World Records.

For those who are unable to attend the concert in person, the team is planning to provide a live stream in several venues around the world. With one year left until the concert, there is still much work to be done, including some final acoustics tests in cooperation with NTNU – a Norwegian technical university in Trondheim.

If you have any cool ideas or want to be a part of this unique project, contact Ina at ina@pluravalley.com.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the acoustics inside the heart of a mountain and to be a part of a truly magical event. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this historic cave concert!

If you’re looking for an adventure like no other, then Plura Cave is definitely worth checking out!

The coordinates for this amazing dive site are 67°25’N 14°30’E.
