At the end of August we reported on An unpleasant incident that took place in Italy. As a result of a theft, a group of Polish technical divers lost very valuable equipment. Among the diving gear, there was also photographic equipment.

Losing a camera can happen to anyone. The chances of the police finding it are minimal. What else can we do to recover stolen property? Is it possible to find something as hard to identify as a camera?

As we can find out by visiting the links left by our reader, there is still a chance, first of all the “new owner” must put the photos taken with it on the web. It turns out that among the information contained in each photo, we can find the serial number of our equipment.

In addition, there is a database on the Internet which collects and stores information about stolen equipment. Thanks to the search engine, we can quickly and easily check each item. Such a possibility may turn out to be exceptionally useful when we come across a “unique opportunity”.
