German Unterwasserarchäologen der Arbeitsgruppe für maritime und limnische Archäologi (AMLA) is conducting a very interesting archaeological project in flooded parts of cenotes. You can read more about the project itself at: Submerged Cave Archaeological Research Project Mexico. The project also has its fanpage on Facebook.
I suggest you pay attention to the research methodology, which is practically undeveloped in the cave environment. The team is working in a scientifically virgin area and it looks impressive. In addition, it should be noted that among the many pseudo-scientific projects (based on diving and taking pretty pictures), this one is really serious.
Most of the information is mainly in German, but still worth a watch!
