Tomorrow the 4th edition of the National Geographic Travelers Festival starts

The editors of the National Geographic Polska magazine, together with PTAK WARSAW EXPO, have the pleasure of inviting you to the fourth edition of the National Geographic Travelers Festival, which will take place during the World Travel Show.

After Zielona Góra and Wrocław, the time has come for Warsaw! The last edition of the National Geographic Travelers Festival this year will take place this coming weekend (the 20th-22nd of October). Among the invited guests there will be true legends of the travelers’ world (such as Krzysztof Wielicki, Elżbieta Dzikowska) and representatives of the younger generation who amaze the world with their achievements (such as Andrzej Bargiel, Kinga Baranowska).

Speeches will be hosted by authors of popular travel blogs (pojechana.pl, szpilkiwplecaku.pl), and well-known Youtubers will have a separate stage at their disposal. The National Geographic zone will become the world for a moment, but the festival will be inaugurated with a Polish accent.

7 New Wonders of Poland

The opening event will be the award ceremony of the 7 New Wonders of Poland competition. For the 7th time the journalists of National Geographic Traveler set off in Poland in search of original places, newly created or undergoing a renaissance. Our readers played the role of jurors and in an online voting decided which of them deserve the title of the New Wonder of Poland. The results will be announced on Friday, October 20.

The world of National Geographic

Meetings and lectures will be held throughout Saturday and Sunday. Well-known travellers, authors of books, extreme sportsmen, photographers, youtubers and bloggers will talk about their expeditions and achievements. We will be visited by, among others, deep-sea diver Krzysztof Starnawski, prominent Himalayan mountaineer Krzysztof Wielicki, world-class ski tourer Andrzej Bargiel, Aleksander Doba, Kinga Baranowska, Elżbieta Dzikowska, Szymon Hołownia and Marcin Dobas – photographer for National Geographic Poland.

The Become a National Geographic Traveler competition will have its finale during the Travelers’ Festival. For several weeks, the editors have been accepting applications from Readers, in which they shared stories about their most interesting expeditions. Now the winners will have the opportunity to prepare a presentation and present it in front of a larger audience.

The National Geographic Zone is much more than meetings and lectures. Visitors will be able to enjoy activities and attractions prepared by our partners.

In between the lectures

Nikon experts will lead photography workshops. LOGOS travel agency will plan a trip perfectly tailored to individual preferences and abilities. In the FOX zone, amateurs of the film world and the youngest will feel good, with a lot of additional activities prepared for them.

Photography lovers will have the opportunity to see the first photographs from the Photo Ark exhibition that is currently being prepared in Warsaw. Joel Sartore, a recognised photographer and member of the National Geographic Society, has been travelling the world for many years and taking portraits of animals, many of which are endangered species. This Photographic Noah’s Ark currently contains around 6,000 photographs, with plans to catalogue 12,000 species. Some of these extraordinary photographs will soon be presented to the Polish public.

The Lubuskie and Dolnośląskie Voivodeships, where we hosted this year’s editions of the Travellers’ Festival, will also have their own zones at the fair.

The first festival events will begin as early as 10:00.
