In our service from time to time appear information about the next diving applications, created with a view to owners of smartphones. There is no denying that they have impetus in our lives. Concentrating many functions (more or less useful), they can often be an effective solution to a problem or be a tool for entertainment. So it is not surprising that more and more “add-ons” are being added to make our phones even more useful.
The Scuba Capsule from Utmost Tech, is a tool that will allow any diver, to take their beloved iphone underwater and use it to take photos, record HD video or measure temperature. So what exactly is SC? Simply put, it’s no less than a waterproof case for your smartphone.
The manufacturer advertises the device as an “All-in-one Dive Computer”. Indeed, reading the specifications, we get the impression that there is an excess of functions.
Among the most important attributes the Scuba Capsule can boast. On the screen of our phone, packed into the “capsule” and equipped with the appropriate application, we can now view readings such as: depth, dive time, temperature, gas pressure in our cylinder, compass, decompression status and multi-level graphs describing our dive. With a lot of freedom to personalise our display, the case can satisfy both recreational and professional or technical divers.
Information is sent to a device placed inside the capsule, thanks to a set of sensors it is equipped with. The first thing that strikes the eye is the absolute lack of buttons. The whole thing is operated by knocking with your hand on a given side of the casing in order to achieve the desired effect. So operation seems to be easy, no matter what type of gloves we wear.
The product is made of bulletproof mineral glass, which is set in a simple but robust aluminium case.
Now, a little surprise (at least for some), the creators of this device are two of our compatriots – Marcin Michel and Jakub Goryszewski. For many months they have been improving and refining their project, subjecting it to many tests together with a group of experienced divers from Poland and USA.
Advanced features and their huge number force us to take a closer look at the exact specification, available on the manufacturer’s website. The price of the device is $499, while the wireless transmitter is available for $350 and the waterproof headphones for $59.
