Constant development and looking for new areas to explore is characteristic of the best, regardless of the industry. No wonder then, that the tycoon of the diving training market, PADI, decided to create its own training programme for freedivers!

In 2016, PADI will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Half a century is a long time and a lot of trained divers of all levels are hard to illustrate with numbers. No wonder that the PADI authorities decided to enter new territory – free diving.

The American organisation’s latest ‘baby’ will be officially unveiled in November 2015 at the DEMA SHOW, the largest diving trade show taking place in Orlando, Florida.

The choice of a new direction should not surprise anyone. Freediving is currently enjoying huge interest. Over the last few years we have seen this sport expand from a total niche, a discipline only for the chosen few, to a level where free diving has become a way of life for thousands of people, followed by a whole philosophy, diet, special training and… unforgettable experiences under water.

As with all PADI courses, the training materials have been developed with the expertise and cooperation of freediving experts who have played a key role in its creation.

The training materials will be available in electronic form. Thanks to PADI Freediver Touch, students will be able to access them from their tablets, both online and offline.

If you would like more information on the new training programme, please contact your regional PADI representative.
