Everyone would like to look at the surface of the water from the other side at least once in their lives. In this matter we have no doubts. If we are ready to start the adventure with diving, the first stage we have to go through is a basic diving course.
Regardless of which organisation or diving centre we choose, at the first stage we learn the basics, which are always the same. The knowledge gained during this training is completely elementary, but at the same time completely sufficient to safely draw maximum benefits from diving.
The basic course, often also called OWD (Open Water Diver), entitles us to dive, together with a certified partner, in open water to about 20m. This limit may vary by +/- 2m depending on the organisation. Such depth gives the possibility to see the most interesting underwater places. It is worth noting that on coral reefs, most marine life occurs at shallow depths.
The training consists of 3 main parts: theoretical, pool and practical in open water. In the theory part we learn the basics necessary to use the equipment and understand the simplest rules and principles under water. During the pool classes, exercises are presented and performed, and at the end, in open water, the previously acquired knowledge is used in real dives.
After completing the course we receive a certificate from the organisation where the training was conducted. Now we can safely explore the depths!
