New, smaller and cheaper Garmin Descent MK2S dive computer

The popular smartwatch manufacturer for athletes has released the new Garmin Descent MK2S dive computer. Due to its size, the device is dedicated to people with smaller wrists.

Garmin Descent MK2S is a new, smaller and cheaper version of the well-known models Garmin Descent MK2 and MK2i. The newest variant is clearly smaller than its predecessors. This fact is sure to please those with a petite build who appreciate the quality and functionality of the Descent MK2.

The new model is cheaper, smaller and has all the features of its predecessors

The MK2S has a slightly smaller display with a diagonal of 1.2″. The whole, of course, is still very readable in the sun and is hidden under scratch-resistant sapphire glass. The creators have also slimmed down the casing and its diameter is now 43 mm. As with the MK2 and MK2i, the MK2S also has interchangeable straps.

The new Garmin dive computer is available in three colour options. In addition to light gold with a light sand silicone strap, we also have DLC carbon grey with a black silicone strap and mineral blue with a sea foam-coloured silicone strap.

TheGarmin Descent MK2S offers the full suite of diving features known from the previous models. In addition, the menu also includes all the options offered by the company available in smartwatches for athletes. Including activity tracking, smart notifications, stress and energy level tracking and much more.

The Garmin Descent MK2S dive computer can operate in several different dive modes. First of all, we have here the well-known single and multi-gas modes (including nitrox, trimix and 100% O2). In addition, there are also gauge and freediving modes. Underwater hunting and CCR modes complete the package.

The unit displays all relevant information such as depth, dive time, temperature, ascent and descent rates, gases currently in use, PO2, decompression and safety stops and much, much more.

It’s also worth mentioning that the MK2S dive computer offers excellent battery life. On a single charge, it can run for up to 30 hours in dive mode and up to seven days in watch mode.
