Torpedoes of this type were developed in the years of World War II at the request of the Luftwaffe command. They were designed to be dropped from aircraft moving at a speed of around 250 km/h at a height of up to 40 m. More than 2,000 were produced in total, and they were tested on Lake Miedwie by the Kriegsmarine.
