The record-breaking dive was the culmination of 10 days of preparations for another expedition to explore caves. This time the popular “Starnaś” and his support intend to explore the place called Hranica Propast, in the Czech Republic. To make sure that both the equipment and the team members are ready for the new challenge, a series of deep dives were conducted in the Blue Hole – one of the favourite sites of technical divers in Egypt’s Dahab.

The total time of the record-breaking dive was 9 hours, with the descent taking only several minutes, while the ascent and decompression, as usual, took much longer. Traditionally, the descent was carried out using a rebreather of his own design, which Krzysztof Starnawski uses in all his dives. During the dive to 283m Krzysztof used the Liquivision X OLED‘s Liquivision X1 computer.

During the record breaking, the Dualrebreather team consisting of Irena Stangierska, Marek Klyta and Grzegorz Rutkowski provided support, while Wiesiek Zahor, responsible for controlling the situation on the surface, was a guest.

The previous record was 270m held by the late David Shaw of Australia, who set it in 2004.

The editors of Divers24 would like to congratulate you on your achievement and wish you many more amazing projects!

Many thanks also to all our readers who, as usual, were very attentive and sent us information about the new record already on Saturday!
