If pure passion is the fuel that drives your actions, then you cannot miss this opportunity! Baltictech is looking for people to join the team and help intensify the ongoing search. Of course, candidates must meet certain requirements, but this is probably obvious?
But let’s start with where the idea came from. This issue will probably be best explained by the group’s leader Tomasz Stachura.
We have repeatedly encountered the opinion that we are a hermetic group that is impossible to get into. A few years ago we even thought of organising a diving weekend with Baltictech. A few days of training, during which we could get to know each other better. But, as is often the case in life, we were constantly preoccupied with new projects. That is why the whole thing dragged on a bit. Now the time has come, when we want to take concrete steps. – explains Tomasz Stachura
This Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (29 September – 1 October) any diver who meets the conditions can join Baltictech for joint dives. During 3 days there will be a survey of about 5-6 shallow wrecks, which are located in the coastal area, east of Leba. The wrecks are located quite shallow, at a depth of about 1.5-2m and have been on Baltictech’s radar for several years.
It still didn’t add up to check them out. When we did meet as Baltictech, we did advanced technical dives, and these shallow wrecks were still waiting for their moment. Now, from Tuesday to Friday, an unusual and rare wind is blowing from the south. This will make for ideal conditions 3-4 Mm offshore.
During these three days, willing people will check out specific positions together with members of Baltictech. The dives will be conducted from boats, and some departures will be quite longup to 10 km. During the underwater work, the divers will uncover the wrecks with an ejector and identify them. The idea is to determine the potential of the site and whether it is, for example, an ordinary fishing boat or perhaps an interesting wreck of a wooden sailing ship?
After a day spent diving and exploring wrecks, everything will be discussed and analysed over a shared dinner.
At this moment 6-7 people have already signed up and expressed their willingness to dive together. So let’s say a bit more about the requirements and who Baltictech is looking for?
The basic criteria and the absolute minimum is the Advanced Nitrox qualification. It is essential to have a passion and desire to develop further as a diver. The team works on closed circuits and the ideal candidate should have a plan to get to this level within 12-24 months.
It is also important that new divers bring unique skills to the team. Therefore, it would be a plus, for example, to have a powerboat helmsman licence, to be a mechanic, to be able to create and maintain a website, or to edit and process photo and video material.
The last few years have been very intense and have flown by in the blink of an eye. Our team is not getting any younger, and on top of that the pace of work and the appearance of new projects is very intense. Not everyone in our group can always be available, so I want new people in Baltictech. We are looking for divers who can help us keep up the pace and contribute to Baltictech’s activities.
If weather and circumstances allow, Baltictech is planning 2 more such meetings this year. The aim is to identify 3-4 people who will join the group permanently.
Cost: Participants must share the cost of the fuel used at the end. For further trips approx. 300 PLN per diver.
The Baltictech group, which originates from the Tricity, does not need special explanation. Over the last decade, from one of many teams, it has technical diversover the last decade, it has grown into a leading team involved in searching, exploration and documentation of wrecks. The group conducts its activities mainly in the Baltic Sea and the North Sea.
