Churaumi Aquarium – the most beautiful oceanarium in the world

Located at Motobu in Ocean Expo Commemorative National Government Park on the island of Okinawa, it has a main reservoir with a capacity of 7,500m³! Its dimensions are 35m long and 27m high. The oceanarium is considered to be the second largest in the world and the only one that is designed to hold whale sharks.

It houses 21,000 aquatic animals! These include manta rays, whale sharks, dolphins, penguins and 740 species of fish, which we can observe through acrylic glass measuring 22.5m wide by 8.5m high and 60cm thick.

In addition to the attractions of 77 reservoirs with a total capacity of 10000m³, we can visit the historical museum, the botanical garden open seasonally from February to October and the beach.
