As communicated by the official fanpage Cazadero Diving Expedition 2016 ended successfully, and two of our compatriots: Marcel Korkuś and Bartosz Wnęk return from the Argentinean lake Cazadero with a new Guinness record. Interestingly, both men took the record away from another Polish expedition, after less than a year since it was set!
We are still receiving new information, but the matter is very fresh and there is still time for a complete summary. At this moment, we would like to share with you the success of the expedition itself and the information that all the requirements have been met for the Guinness record to be officially recognised. So, the new record in high altitude diving is 5990 metres!
“We are after the conversation with Marcel, despite not favourable weather conditions (snow, wind) the dive proceeded without major complications. Fortunately, the portable hyperbaric chamber (Gamowa bag) did not have to be used. The guys are already at 5750 m above sea level , a strong wind exceeding 100 km/h is blowing, the snowstorm is not letting up , Today late in the evening the CDE 2016 team will reach the village of Fiambala.” – entry on the official profile of the expedition.
