Aqua Lung celebrates 75 years of existence!

It all started in 1943 when French naval officer Jacques-Yves Cousteau and engineer Emile Gagnan, jointly developed the first autonomous diving system with an on-demand automaton – the scaphandre autonome, later named Aqua Lung.

It was a milestone for modern diving. Before it was built, the underwater world was practically one big mystery to people. Thanks to the breakthrough invention, which was the Aqua Lung, the exploration of the deep sea could finally begin, and a long road in the construction and development of a brand, unambiguously associated with diving progress, began.
