Another futuristic underwater hotel project will become a reality!

Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel – this is the name of the underwater hotel project, which will cost $20 million to complete! Preparations have been going on for the last 2.5 years, but today everything is almost ready. The construction will be placed at a depth of 9 metres below the water surface and it will be partially movable.

The final unknown remains the choice of location for the first hotel. At the moment the choice has been narrowed down to a few fabulous locations such as Aruba, Antigua, the Virgin Islands, Cuba or Saint Martin.

The idea is nothing new. We could already read about similar projects in the past years. They are being implemented in Fiji – Poseidon Undersea Resorts or in Dubai – Atlantis on The Palm island. However, the creators of Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel are optimistic and are not afraid of competition. According to their calculations, a night in their hotel will be ~$1000 cheaper than in other hotels, and they see their strength in this.

In turn, thanks to recently approved and granted patents, the structure of the hotel will be movable. As Tony Webb explains, this is mainly due to concerns for the safety of the guests staying inside. The ability to change location is to make it easier to avoid encounters with hurricanes and other potential hazards that the weather can bring. In addition, each section/room will be equipped with a special flotation airbag system to prevent it from sinking in the event of an emergency.

Speaking of rooms, each of them will offer a king size bed, en-suite bathroom, internet access, TV and huge panoramic panels, thanks to which you will be able to admire the underwater world on the other side. In addition, the hotel will have a lobby, restaurant and event rooms.

One of the issues the hotel’s creators want to emphasise is scientific projects, such as the development of artificial reefs and bio stones.
