Punctually at 10.00, another event in the series of cleaning Polish reservoirs began. As usual, the whole event could not do without the diving fraternity, which in this case came in very large numbers! A total of 183 people took part in the cleaning of Lake Oleckie Wielkie, including 53 divers. In addition to local towns, there were representatives from the capital, Łódź, and even foreign guests from Lithuania.

At 11 a.m. 130 people started to clean the lake shores! At this time divers set out to clean the bottom and the depths of Lake Oleckie Wielkie. After a few hours, the cleaning mission came to an end. The result? 1600 kg less of rubbish in the beautiful Masurian lake. It was an impressive result as during the four previous editions, a total of 3 tonnes was collected.

The day ended with a prize draw among those taking part in the clean-up. On the occasion of the fifth edition, an anniversary cake could not be missed. After the refreshments, the usual party was held to sum up the successful “hunts”.

We invite everyone to Olecko for the next clean-up next year, and in the meantime we would like to remind you that similar actions are organised all over Poland. You can always find information about them on our website.
