Wreck search on the Volga

Hydro-acoustic equipment is also being used in the search. It has already proved helpful in locating two vessels near Volgograd in central Russia. The technologically advanced equipment allows the search area to be considerably curved, increasing its effectiveness.

The aim of this unique expedition, called “Secrets of the Stalingrad Convoys”, is to find documents or objects that can be used to identify individual units and the sailors who died on them.

At the moment there is not much information about the whole project or its results. As time goes on, the first summaries of the expedition should appear, which we hope to also publish on Divers24.
