Umberto Pelizzari's first visit to Poland - 11 November 2016!

Thanks to the efforts of Agnieszka Kalska, founder of the FREEBODY freediving and swimming school, we will have the honour to host Umberto Pelizzari in Poland, in Poznań. On the 11th of November, he will visit Polish freedivers, divers, lovers of the sea and the ocean, all those who love being in the water, to talk about his own experiences when he was learning what freediving is and how he reached depths that no one had ever visited before on a single breath.

The meeting will be held in Poznan at the “Sheraton Poznan Hotel” – Bukowska 3/9 St. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required by filling out a form on the official website of the event. The speech will be in English, and will be followed by the auction of a photo of one of Umberto’s record-breaking dives, on which he will put his signature. The amount raised will be used for the development of the freediving discipline in Poland.

This event will certainly go down in the history of diving in Poland. Umberto Pelizzari is a legend of freediving, a figure recognisable by every freediver in the world and also well-known in the equipment diving community. His achievements include, among others:

• 16-time world record holder in depth events,
• first person to dive to a depth of 150m without air in the cylinder,
• founder of the Italian freediving school Apnea Academy, which has been operating since 1995 and has over 400 instructors worldwide,
• Author of the bestselling “Freediving Manual”, the most acclaimed freediving manual worldwide,
• The main character in the IMAX 2D film “Ocean Man”,

In addition, during the meeting there will be an opportunity to buy the “Freediving Handbook”, a 480-page book, by Umberto Pelizzari and Stefano Tovaglieri and get it autographed in person.

During the meeting, after the main guest’s speech, an underwater drone designed by Polish engineer Michał Biskup – Diveye – will be presented. We invite you to participate in the event which will help you discover what really pulls people deep under water!
