On Tuesday 22 January, two dive scooters of the well-known Suex brand were stolen during the 50th edition of the Boot fair taking place in Düsseldorf. According to available information, the thieves were not random people who took the opportunity and came well prepared.

At first glance, both scooters look identical. The difference is the battery. The XJS has a lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery and the XJT has a nickel metal hydride (NiMH or Ni-MH) battery.

[blockquote style=”2″]”This was not a random theft. The thieves were equipped with specific tools because both scooters – DPD” XJS “and DPJ” XJT “- were firmly secured with 12 mm diameter steel cables.” – said Clemens Schutzenhofer, representing Suex.[/blockquote]

This is not the first time that DPVs have been stolen at the Boot Fair. Last year, two Carbon Scooters were stolen. So are we dealing with a serial thief?

If you come across an opportunity to purchase the above models in the near future, it is worth checking their serial numbers. The stolen units were marked as follows:

XJS – AZ0111103654
XJT – AZ0111103659
