After a three-year hiatus, Europe’s largest water sports trade fair, Boot in Düsseldorf, also returned.

Unfortunately, the worldwide situation of recent years has left a visible mark on the entire event. Although a lot of people waited and a lot of manufacturers from all over the world showed up on site, it is quite modest. Compared to past editions, the filling of the hall is about 35% less, which is clearly visible.

Nor is there a rule, if we wanted to point to a specific branch of the diving industry that has suffered the most. Both dive centers, popular expedition destinations (e.g. Mexico) and large equipment manufacturers (Aqualung) are missing.

Boot Fair 2023

Polish brands at Boot fair in Düsseldorf

Certainly, companies from Poland rose to the challenge, who showed up in great numbers. In addition, some prepared – as usual – something new, which has appeared or is about to appear in their offer.

Xdeep has unveiled ceramic coatings with which it will be possible to further personalize our BCDs. They are currently available in white and blue (eventually there will be 5-6 colors) and can be used to coat D-rings, plates and brackets.

Enthusiasts of closed-circuit diving got a new version of the Kiss Sidewinder rebreather, in which the shape of the scrubbers was changed, among other things.

Seacraft scooters

Also in Düsseldorf was EXofin, which presented its folding fins, which are attracting increasing interest. A variant prepared for the civilian market appeared with the announcement of a wider range of colors including orange.

Speaking of novelties, one can’t help but mention the Seacraft brand, which presented all the novelties at the fair. So, in addition to the well-known scooters there is new model of Seacraft GO!, ENC3-PRO navigation console i Air Travel battery. There was also certainly plenty of discussion at the booth about the recently unveiled Seacraft Connect application.

AVTR dry suit

The SANTI Diving booth is also interesting. The manufacturer from Gdynia presented a new dry suit warmer and three conceptual variants of the new Avatar wetsuit. At the moment, on the profile Avatar: diving made easy is ongoing votingon what the refreshed Avatar will ultimately look like. In turn, history lovers have the opportunity to purchase Tomasz Stachura’s book “The Way of Death” with an autograph directly from the author.

SANTI Diving booth

In addition to those mentioned above, Polish brands are also present at the Boot fair in Düsseldorf SeaYa, Mola Mola, Tecline and Seawolf. The whole is rounded out by manufacturers from all over the world, but as I mentioned at the beginning, many companies were missing from the site.

If you are interested in closed-circuit diving, the Divesoft Liberty unit is certainly worth exploring. You can read more about it in Edd Stockdale’s article, which we published in the 19th issue of the DIVERS24 quarterly! The digital version of the magazine is available free of charge, while you can purchase the printed version in our online store.
