“The expedition aims to search for and identify sunken wrecks along the coast of Sierra Leone. The waters of this African country have seen galleons stuffed with diamonds and ivory. They have been the operating area of American slave ships, as well as the British Armada fleeing the fire of Hitler’s u-boats.

The preparations for the expedition lasted many months and the main emphasis was put on searching in archives, museums and libraries all over the world for any information concerning sunken wrecks in the area we were interested in. Close contact with The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office and the bathymetric maps we have received from them show that this is a completely unspoilt and unexplored site, which allows us to claim that world-class discoveries may await us on site.”
