Most people think of sharks as ruthless and savage killers and cringe at the thought of encountering them. The main ‘credit’ for this has to go to Steven Spielberg’s film ‘Jaws’.

Fortunately, there are more and more films showing the true face of these majestic and beautiful animals. Thanks to pictures such as the one made by Joe Romeiro, we can see how amazing it is to dive with sharks.

Let us hope that such recordings and the various initiatives taken by organisations trying to protect sharks will help to change their image in people’s minds and gradually rebuild their populations.
