The 12th edition of the Scorpene Rafting on the Łyna is coming soon

On 21 March 2015, for the twelfth time, the Skorpena Rafting on the Łyna River will take place in the capital of Warmia – Olsztyn. One of the oldest and most famous diving rafting trips in Poland, it is organised by the Academic Scuba Club “Skorpena” as part of the “Olsztyn Actively” campaign.

It is the biggest event of its kind in Poland and its aim is to activate and awake the diving community from its winter sleep. Participation in the diving rally is free of charge, and anyone can take part in it, regardless of age, clothing and diving federation membership.

The enthusiasts of this type of event who come to Olsztyn will wake up not only the spring, but also themselves. They will be able to stimulate their post-winter bodies and minds while rafting along a several-kilometre-long section of the Łyna River.

However, cold water does not frighten anyone, on the contrary! Additionally, everyone will be warmed up by the joy and passion for diving. Rafting is a great opportunity to leave richer in new acquaintances, memories, as well as wonderful prizes, which will be traditionally drawn among the participants.

Nobody needs to be convinced of the uniqueness of this event. The constantly growing number of participants and regulars coming back every year in a bigger group are the best advertisement for the event. The first edition of the event took place in a very intimate group of 21 people and within a decade it has grown to over half a thousand divers participating in the 11th edition of the Scorpene Rafting!

The canoeing route is very attractive to participants and gives them a chance to admire the beauty of Olsztyn and the local nature. The finishing line is located in Park Centralny. It is also there that the contest for the most interesting disguise among the participants will be settled.

The float is also an interesting event for the inhabitants of Olsztyn. The sight of several hundred divers in colourful costumes in the middle of the city always surprises passers-by and brings a smile to their faces.

However, the canoeing itself is not limited to swimming a few kilometres in cold water. Another attraction is the party until dawn, organised in the most beautiful student campus in Poland – Kortów. Live music will be provided by the band Łydka Grubasa.

More information about the canoeing rally and the possibility to register are available here.
