A while ago, we received information that Sebastian Marczewski most probably died during his attempt to break the depth record in open-circuit diving. At the moment, there is no statement from the team that supported Sebastian in the record-breaking dive.

Sebastian did not communicate the details or dates of his record-breaking dive. He wanted to prepare for the task as well as possible in peace and quiet. Unfortunately, with such deep dives, you can never predict everything.

Equally two years ago, on 5 July 2017, descending to a depth of 240 metres in Italy’s Lake Garda, Sebastian Marczewski broke the record for the deepest open-circuit dive conducted by an active member of the uniformed services. He dedicated his achievement to his fellow veterans. The next step was to be a 340 metre dive to beat the record held by Ahmed Gabr.
