On Sunday, 6 September, there was a diving accident in the popular diving site of Kamieniołom Honoratka in Wielkopolska. From the information available, we know that the missing diver is a person with instructor qualifications and the dive itself was conducted on a closed circuit.

A pair of divers entered the water – a closed circuit instructor and an open circuit diver using a single cylinder. At a depth of 30m the team separated. The OC diver ascended and began searching for his partner, unfortunately without success.

After 1pm the local Fire Brigade received a report of a missing diver. A rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene. On arrival at the reservoir, the firefighters set about conducting a search for the missing man and were assisted by 3 dive teams to work together to find the casualty as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, the missing man has not been found at the moment.

Honoratka is an extremely popular body of water among divers from all over the country. The site, located in the Konin district, is the former flooded excavation site of the “Pątnów” opencast brown coal mine in Konin. After the end of exploitation, in 2001, it was decided to flood the excavation, which allowed creating a body of water with an area of 346 hectares.
