PADI Women’s Dive Day – 18 July 2015

On 18 July 2015. PADI has planned a worldwide event called PADI Women’s Dive Day. The goal? To bring together as many female divers as possible, regardless of training level, to build awareness and interest in diving among women around the world.

Thanks to a website specially prepared for this purpose, everyone can search for the nearest diving centre or diving base which is taking part in the event. If there are no Women’s Dive Day events near you yet, you can persuade the nearest PADI centre to participate. It is also worth checking the updates from time to time, as more participating sites are added daily.

If you run a diving business and are affiliated to PADI, you can register your centre/base for the celebration at any time, thanks to the website mentioned above.

Why such an idea? The organisers recognise that women are a group with a lot of purchasing power, while statistics show that 50% of products dedicated to men, are bought by women. Additionally, it is women who make up 35% of certified divers, and this trend is constantly growing. PADI is therefore meeting these indicators by trying to develop such an attractive customer at the right time.

However, not only PADI sees that women are an increasing force in the diving world. More and more producers of diving equipment, preparing new collections include a wider range of colours, having better hit women’s tastes and special sizes and cuts, tailored to women’s figures. It has been known for a long time, that money rules the world, and the one who has the purchasing power, will be tempted with more and more interesting possibilities to spend the excess cash.

As of today, under the banner of PADI Women’s Dive Day there are already 225 events registered, in 46 countries, on 6 continents. We can safely say that the diving world began to treat women seriously, and not as an addition to the diving guy, or a phenomenon in the form of a risk taker who appreciates strong impressions and wants to compete with men in every field. Let’s keep it up.
