PADI Women’s Dive Day – 15 July 2017

The next edition of PADI Women’s Dive Day will take place this Saturday. During events organised around the world, divers will celebrate and promote diving among the fair sex.

During the previous two editions, the event organised under the banner of PADI Women’s Dive Day has gained enormous popularity. This is undoubtedly a signal that not only are there more ladies among the diving public, but they are also more recognised.

The easiest way to see this is by looking at the diving equipment market. More and more equipment is dedicated to women. Full range of colours or sizes and cut designed for a woman’s figure are now a standard for every important diving equipment manufacturer. This is quite a change over the last decade.

The debut of “Women’s Dive Day” turned out to be a historic event. It was celebrated by a total of 6000 divers in 65 countries, during 335 events held on all 7 continents! Divers of all genders, ages and certifications celebrated literally everywhere in the world.

PADI Women’s Dive Day is intended to show that diving is a sport for everyone. It is created by great people from all over the world. Visiting following diving sites and making an appointment to dive, we can meet a lot of new friends. Great people, with whom we will be able to experience many underwater adventures and visit many wonderful places together.

PADI reminds on its website that diving is also a great story, which of course does not lack … women! Although our beloved sport may be associated mainly as a male passion, no one can deny the enormous contribution women have made to the development of the sport. Over the past decades, women have had a huge impact on many elements of diving and have led a number of projects and studies allowing us to better understand the underwater world.
