With the increasing popularity and availability of DPV dive scooters, it has become important to standardise procedures and create training programmes in the operation of this type of equipment. It should come as no surprise, then, that individual diver training and certification organisations want to offer an attractive programme in this area.
The new RAID programme announced in late January 2021, consists of two independent courses – DPV and Advanced DPV. As you can easily guess, the training courses are prepared for divers at different levels.
The DPV course is a basic certification in the operation of dive scooters and is mainly aimed at recreational divers who are interested in using DPV equipment. The course enables you to develop your skills in handling the craft and primarily introduces the use and basics of navigation techniques.
The Advanced DPV course, on the other hand, is addressed to more experienced divers who already have some experience in, among other things, underwater navigation. The aim of the Advanced DPV course is, among other things, to lay the foundations for increasing your range of movement and to develop your team diving skills using DPV.
The thrill of rushing through the water behind a diver’s propulsion vehicle (DPV) is an experience that really gets the blood beating. Using a DPV provides divers with both immense fun and the means to achieve goals that would be impossible without their use.
