The Maltese media are reporting a wonderful find! Three new wrecks from the Second World War have been located in the local waters. During preliminary work to plan the location of the Malta-Sycilia gas pipeline, a sunken ship and two aircraft were found, the location of which was previously unknown to anyone.

The wrecks of three vessels have been discovered in Malta’s territorial waters. The whole matter was made public during Monday’s sitting of parliament, Minister Joe Mizzi said.

According to available information, the Italian side is willing to make changes to the pipeline route design so that the newly discovered sites are not affected by the works. The pipeline will be about 160 km long and cost about €350 million. The investment will allow Malta to diversify its supply sources.
