The technological novelty we present to you today is a diving radio with GPS function. The device, which is a product of the Nautilius Lifeline company, is slowly creeping into Europe, after conquering its home market – the USA. The radio is already available at dealers in Norway, England, Belgium and Ukraine and its price is $299.

The radio is equipped with 3 buttons for its operation. With their help, we are able to use the pre-programmed channels or enter our own, send our position to any modern receiver within a radius of about 12km and call for help. To communicate, there is a microphone/speaker compliant with IP67 standards, which itself maintains watertightness up to 1m, if we have open casing, after closing it we obtain watertightness up to 130m. The whole is attached to each other with a special clip.

The device is powered by a lithium-ion battery 18 mAh, which in emergency mode allows you to work 24 hours. Anything with a USB connector can serve as a charger. The USB port is also used for data transfer and GPS updates, the product is fully compatible with MAC and PC. The software is preloaded with the latest Jupiter 3 GPS as standard.

Most of the information about the status and parameters of Nautilius Lifeline can be read from the LCD display, which continuously shows us the battery status, GPS position, the frequency currently set for our radio and the volume of the device. In unfavourable conditions, e.g. in dark waters or after dusk, the device informs us about alerts with a flashing strobe.
