Krzysztof Starnawski arrived on site as early as 2 September, with a clear goal – to beat the record Casati set in 2008, and to explore the cave using tools that allow him to create a three-dimensional image of it.

The Polish diver was supported by his team and members of Centro Pordenonese Sommozzatori. Already on 3 September, Starnawski dived to a depth of 156 metres and his undoubted ally was the crystal clear water and the fantastic visibility that came with it, which at that time reached up to 20 metres.

“Beyond the depth reached, the cave descends further down a wide corridor. I will return here again to continue the exploration.” – Starnawski said in an interview with a reporter from station RAI3

Sorgente del Gorgazzo has been in the media in recent years mainly because of fatal accidents involving divers. The cave is classified as difficult and requires a lot of experience. All because of its complex profile.
