The conference will be held on 4-6 October 2019 at the Training and Recreation Centre Gwarek, in Ślesin (100 km from Poznań, 110 km from Bydgoszcz). This is an area of deep, thermally altered Konin lakes.
The aim of the conference will be to exchange experience and to familiarise participants with the latest developments in underwater research, with particular emphasis on the methods used, the principles of water monitoring and environmental education. These issues are important due to the increasing involvement of divers in underwater research, especially for the non-invasive exploration of water ecosystems valuable in terms of nature (e.g. national parks, nature reserves, Natura 2000 areas).
During the conference, training workshops will be organised, where it will be possible to improve one’s diving qualifications and obtain the titles of Ecologist Diver I and II degree and Extractor Diver. The trainings will be conducted by qualified instructors with many years of experience, including in conducting scientific work.
Speaking topics will include the following:
– Survey and monitoring of fauna and flora of lakes and rivers;
– Monitoring of invasive species;
– Research methods, tools and techniques used in aquatic ecosystems;
– Use of scuba diving in underwater research;
– GIS in underwater research and lake morphology;
– Geography of lakes and rivers;
– Application of underwater research results for educational purposes and dissemination of conservation knowledge;
– And others…
