Contrary to earlier announcements, the next edition of the Lodz Wreck Festival will take place not at the beginning of 2017 but already on 13 February 2016! So despite the recent change of the event’s organisation formula to a biennial one, this time we will not have to wait so long to meet in Lodz once again.
It is all due to the thematic layer. As the organisers explain, they have at the moment topics and materials with which they do not want to wait another 12 months. For all wreck diving enthusiasts and people associated with the festival over the past years, this is certainly great news.
It is a well-known fact that the Lodz event has a unique atmosphere and always attracts interesting guests, which translated into a constantly growing number of festival guests. As the popularity of the festival grew, so did its level, and thus the effort of the organisers. It was precisely the enormity of the preparations that made it decided to change the formula to a two-year one, so as to be able to reconcile organisational duties and exploration activities without detriment to either of them.
Fortunately for us, the team of Piotr Wytykowski and Roman Zajder found enough strength and motivation to return with another edition of the Wreck Festival after only 12 months.
Here is the content of the message we got from the organisers, which is mainly addressed to you:
“Contrary to earlier announcements, we have come to the conclusion that 2017 is too late for another edition of the Wreck Diving Festival. Some of the topics would have got old for us in time.
In 2015 an unprecedented event in the history of wreck exploration took place and we want to tell you about it as soon as possible! That’s why we invite everyone already on 13 February 2016 to the 6th edition of the Wreck Diving Festival in Lodz.
We will meet again in the hospitable walls of Lodz University of Technology. We guarantee many very interesting lectures. We will provide more information on what you can expect from the 6th edition of the festival in the near future.”
There’s nothing left to do but wait for further details on the event in Łódź. You can now book your free time and get ready for a trip to the city of fibers!
