Exploring the underwater cultural heritage of Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina is now easier than ever before. With the help of WRECKS4ALL applications, you can explore these fascinating attractions on your mobile device.
The WRECKS4ALL project aims to create an innovative tourism offer based on the underwater cultural heritage of the Eastern Adriatic region. The application uses Augmented Reality (AR) technology to bring underwater sites into your living room. It also provides detailed information about each site, including its history and interesting facts.
From the Hellenistic and Roman eras to the Second World War and modern times, exciting historical events have left their traces on the bottom of the Adriatic Sea. You can dive in and explore wrecks such as the French destroyer Dague near Bar port, steamer Tihany in Montenegro, Golešnica 91 which participated in all wars of the 20th century, and German Stuka plane or ancient shipwreck near Scedro in Croatia. You can also visit the archaeological research of the Deslo site in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project will also encourage the development of transnational identity through the creation of thematic scuba-diving trails along the historic East Adriatic coast. This will help protect underwater heritage by digitalizing it for future generations to enjoy and learn from it.
So if you are looking for a unique way to explore this part of Europe’s history, download the WRECKS4ALL app today!
The Maritime Faculty of the Kotor University of Montenegro, the Center for Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship developed and led the implementation of the project entitled: “Protection of underwater heritage through digitization and valorization as a novel tourist offer” – WRECKS4ALL. The project was approved for financing by the Joint Supervisory Board of the second call Interreg IPA cross-border cooperation program Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2014-2020.
As part of the project, virtual reality showrooms were opened in Kotor, Mostar and Split. Another public outreach result is an application for mobile devices that allows visiting the sites of the underwater cultural heritage of the Adriatic region.
