According to information coming to us from Sweden, there was a fatal diving accident this morning in one of the most popular flooded mines, Tuna Hästberg. From the data available, we know that one person lost their life during the dive.

The victim of the accident is a diver originally from Finland. The findings show that the injured woman was an experienced diver with the qualifications and necessary training to carry out a planned dive.

The fateful dive was one of many that the team to which the victim belonged made over several days. During the previous dives everything went according to plan and without any problems.

When the accident happened, the team was about halfway through a dive with a maximum depth of 34 metres. At a depth of about 20 metres and 400 metres into the system, there were minor problems.

After another 20 minutes, the problem that had occurred earlier escalated. Following these events, a panic attack ensued, which ended in the death of the victim. The other two divers comprising the team made it to the surface where they reported the entire incident.

The local police are now carrying out the investigation and are expected to excavate the body. An investigation report is to be made public once the investigative work is completed.

Due to the lack of details and having learnt from experience, please refrain from analysing the incident, pointing blame and other opinions that may seem unauthorised. The above post is only intended to provide information about the incident.
