You might say there wasn’t much going on today, but nevertheless the day brought us quite a lot. Fortunately, it was very sunny again, although probably -23ºC is not a comfort zone for most people. However, such aura allowed us to finalize the camp without any problems.
The first task after arriving at the site was to remove the ice hole again, which had frozen over since the previous visit. We also installed a platform, thanks to which it will be easier to get dressed when starting to dive.
In the compressor room we managed to finalise all the settings and install the control board. The machines are now working and we are ready to meet the gas requirements of the cave exploration team on an ongoing basis.

if(typeof ugCheckForErrors == “undefined”){
document.getElementById(“unitegallery_33_1”).innerHTML = “Unite Gallery Error – gallery js and css files not included in the footer. Please make sure that wp_footer() function is added to your theme.“;}
else{ ugCheckForErrors(“unitegallery_33_1”, “jquery”);}
};
Speaking of which, the first dives have started. We will report on their progress in the coming days. At the moment, the divers have managed to carry out a dive and check another 20 metres of the cave, which have not been explored before.
As for our second camp, the one under the frozen waterfall, it was named D3. The team working on this part of this year’s expedition has roped the equipment down into the cave and is planning the first dives the following day. Everyone is very curious about the results of this exploration.
As far as non-diving issues are concerned, there was time for a little walk. We have to admit that a walk around the area is breathtaking, and not at all due to the prevailing frost. All around is wild and beautiful, although we are still waiting for the first representatives of the local fauna to come to our camp to satisfy their curiosity.
We only travel by snowmobile, which in itself is a lot of fun, but is not as easy as it might seem. As you can see, during such an expedition, day after day you explore not only the cave itself, but also the surroundings, yourself and the technical achievements!
