The year 2023 is certainly a special one for the DAN Europe, which is celebrating 40 years of activity in the diving industry.

It all started in 1983, when a group of diving enthusiasts and doctors founded an international medical and research organization. Operating on a non-profit basis, the creation was dedicated to the health and safety of the global diving community.

Probably no one at the time predicted how much influence the new organization would have on the world of diving. Today, DAN with its outlets is present all over the world, providing assistance to the diving community. Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg, because Divers Alert Network is much more than insurance and assistance in case of an accident.

It is impossible to overlook their enormous contribution to education and the development of research and scientific facilities. All connected by one priority -. To make diving as safe as possible.

Any diver who has been active in this world for years knows full well how much has changed in 40 years. Certainly DAN Europe has done its part to make diving more accessible and divers more aware and safer.

Therefore, surely DAN Europe, as it celebrates its 40th anniversary, has the right to look back on the past with a sense of a job well done, and to look forward to the future, aware of its own capabilities and the challenges that still need to be met.
